We participated in a prestigious conference in the USA

We recently participated in the 2024 Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices conference, held October 22–23 in Phoenix, Arizona, hosted by the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA). This esteemed event gathered over 1,000 industry experts from around the world, offering a rich program for companies advancing injection device technologies.

A total of 123 exhibitors, including leading companies such as SHL Medical, West, GILEAD, Körber, Lonza, Owen Mumford, Ypsomed, Enable Injections, Steris, Terumo, and many others, showcased their latest innovations. The conference served as a unique platform for industry leaders to present advancements and engage in expert discussions on emerging trends in injection devices.

The program was organized into four core segments. The first explored regulatory strategies for combination products, with insights from Eli Lilly and Biogen emphasizing the importance of involving regulatory authorities early in development. The second segment focused on the potential of large-volume injections, featuring presentations from Chesapeake Pharma, Halozyme, and Eli Lilly, which addressed pain management and patient tolerance, underscoring the expanding applications for large-volume injections.

Day two opened with the third segment, which highlighted advances in drug development platforms, with contributions from Ypsomed, SHL Medical, Amgen, and Merck. The final segment addressed sustainability in the pharmaceutical sector, emphasizing the importance of cross-industry collaboration, with insights from UCB Pharma and DCA Design International.

In addition to the main sessions, smaller technical sections allowed for focused discussions on topics such as obesity treatment and patient preferences for injection devices. Forecasts suggest a promising market potential of $100–150 billion for obesity and diabetes injections in the coming year.

The conference also offered ample networking opportunities, including an evening social event, facilitating connections and potential partnerships with colleagues worldwide.
